Dear Ruth Fisher's Parents and Guardians, A situation occurred today in the Tonopah area, causing Ruth Fisher to go into a Lockout during student arrival time. As part of our commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all students and staff, I wanted to provide details regarding a precautionary measure we took earlier today. Earlier this morning, a Maricopa County Sheriff's Office prompted us to go into a Lockout as a police situation occurred near 339th Ave and Buckeye Rd. While there was no immediate threat to our school, we initiated a lockout as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of everyone on campus. During a lockout, all exterior doors and gates are locked, and regular activities continue inside the buildings. This procedure is part of our comprehensive safety protocols to maintain a secure learning environment. Please be assured that at no point were our students or staff in direct danger. Our administrative team worked closely with local law enforcement to monitor the situation. The lockout was lifted by 8:15 a.m. after law enforcement deemed it safe. Classes have resumed as usual. We understand that situations like these can be concerning, and we want to assure you that our students and staff's safety and well-being are our top priorities. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office at 623-474-5501. Thank you for your understanding and support as we work together to maintain a safe and secure learning environment. Sincerely, Mr. Matt Dobesh Principal matt.dobesh@smusd90.org

Dear Parents and Guardians, As the weather begins to warm up, we kindly ask you to take a moment to review our school's dress code on Page 12 of the student parent handbook. Non compliance with our schools dress code may result in students needing to change their clothes into appropriate attire, parents contacted to bring clothing to their children, and a mark on their agenda card. Thank you for supporting the learning environment by reviewing the districts dress code policy Review the policy here: https://core-docs.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/4317/SMUSD/3849734/Student-Handbook.pdf

The RoboColts made it back to AZ today! The last two days have taken us from Council Bluffs, IA through Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico, and home. We saw the Gateway Monument, the world's largest molecule, the Coal Miners monument, and about 300 different gas stations. It was a great trip with so many great memories. That wraps up our 2023-24 Over Under Season.

Our last day in Council Bluffs/Omaha was a busy one. We started the day with Casey's breakfast pizza, then saw an original stretch of the 1913 Lincoln Highway. From there we saw the world's largest ball of stamps, the Omaha Zoo, Taco John's, Hollywood Candy, dropped Coach Gosack off at the airport, then finished up the day at the Lewis and Clark Lookout, the Lincoln Monument, and dinner at Quaker Steak with our amazing hosts. We head back to AZ tomorrow morning!
