Our monthly Ruth Fisher Mobil Pantry is tomorrow!!!!

Mrs. Hunt’s preschool class has been busy exploring the wonders of weather by investigating how wind can move objects! Through hands-on learning, our youngest Colts were fully engaged, asking questions, making observations, and learning through play. The classroom was filled with curiosity, excitement, and lots of smiles as students experienced STEM in action.

We love seeing learning come alive—especially when it’s green and gold pride shining bright at RFMS. Even our youngest Colts are building a strong foundation for future scientists and problem-solvers! 💚💛

On Saturday, both RMFS VEX Robotics teams traveled to Madison Highland Prep for their second tournament of the season. Both teams played exceptionally well, finishing in 7th and 10th places among a field of mostly high school competitors. Team B walked away with their second consecutive Judge's Award! The teams travel to Prescott next weekend for their next tournament.

Next Friday, January 23rd , the SMUSD 3rd through 8th grade competitive robotics teams will be hosting a fundraising night at Panda Express on Watson Rd. from 8:30 AM until midnight. 20% of all sales will go directly back to the elementary and middle school competitive robotics teams to help pay for materials and competition fees. 🎉💚💛 What a FESTIVE way to wrap up the semester at RFMS! 💛💚🎉

After weeks of hard work, our Colts wrapped up the semester with an unforgettable Colts Day Assembly full of celebration, fun, and school spirit! 🐎✨ We proudly recognized our December Students of the Month 🌟 and celebrated our students who achieved perfect attendance for 2nd quarter 👏🎯—way to go, Colts!

The excitement continued with a school-wide Rock, Paper, Scissors competition 🪨📄✂️ featuring both students and staff, all battling it out until one ultimate champion was crowned! 🏆

Students then enjoyed a variety of festive activities including 🎬 a movie at the high school auditorium, 🎨 winter crafts, 🏠 building gingerbread houses, and ☀️ outdoor games with friends. It was the perfect way to celebrate all of our accomplishments this quarter and enjoy time together as a school community.

We hope all of our Colts have a safe, restful, and joyful break 🎄❄️. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to campus on January 6th!

🎅✨🚨 SANTA ALERT at Ruth Fisher Middle School! 🚨✨🎅

The REAL Santa made a special stop at RFMS after discovering that Ms. Carter was trying to spread Christmas cheer while pretending to be him! 🎄😄 Santa couldn’t let that slide, so he came straight to campus to let our students know loud and clear that he is very real — and very jolly!

Laughter, excitement, and holiday magic filled the halls as Santa busted the imposter and reminded our Colts what the season is all about: joy, smiles, and a little North Pole magic. ❄️🎁

Our Beginning and Advanced Bands, led by the incredible Mr. Baca, filled the room with festive cheer and beautifully performed holiday music! 🎄🎺🥁 His passion, dedication, and commitment have been instrumental in building a thriving music program at RFMS—one that continues to grow and shine year after year.

We are so proud of our RFMS student musicians, who played with confidence, skill, and heart 💚💛. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our students—your presence means the world to them! If you missed the concert, we hope to see you at our spring concert in May 🎶🌟.

A huge THANK YOU to Mr. Baca for the countless hours and dedication he gives to our students, and thank you to our amazing parents for your continued support and encouragement.

💚💛 RFMS Colts—Green & Yellow pride! 💛💚

This past Saturday, the three elementary VEX IQ competitive robotics teams from Winters' Well, Desert Sunset, and Tartesso attended their first competition of the season in Ahwatukee. It was the first-ever tournament for about half of our students in the program. The teams did great! Team 35220A from Winters' Well even qualified for the playoffs and finished the tournament in 5th place overall. Great job teams!
